Blessed Be Your Name

Blogging from Nairobi, Kenya!
WOW! I am in a beautiful area of Africa... green, clean and full of wildlife! (Photos to be posted when I get back home.) As we drove through the Rift Valley area, I became a wee bit homesick for mountains, trees and cooler weather.I am very tired from long meetings, but my spirit is refreshed. This week I was reminded of one of my favorite songs. May I never cease to praise our Father, both in the good times and those that test me in many ways. May we praise Him when He gives....and praise Him when He takes away!
Blessed Be His Name!!!

Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where the streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name

Yes Julie, He does give and He does take away...and it's all good. Oh that you could know how many, many times I think of you and pray for your safety [and yes, your return when it's time]. Hugs to all for me and thanks for the words from St. Teresa in earlier blog--I needed that.

Julie, I've been keeping up with your blog for some time. I met you several years ago at a croptober fest. This entry really made me want to post. I think it is so selfless what you are doing. AMEN that we have people like you. My church is planning another trip to Kenya in the fall. I'm praying about it and if it is something that I am strong enough to do. Keep up the wonderful faith that you have and I am happy that Jon is ok. I will contine to keep your family in my prayers.
Blessings ~ Penny
